چکیده

Abstract Background Ureteral stent insertion and subsequent removal remains one of the most common procedures performed in endourology. We aimed to evaluate a novel, one‐step method, permitting simultaneous guidewire passage using self‐constructed suture snare via standard cystoscopy. This method should be used prior ureteroscopy, cases minimal encrustation peri‐ureteral mucosal oedema, where identification cannulation ureteral orifice may challenge. Methods A is constructed an open‐ended catheter facilitate this novel ‘Switch’ technique. Operative duration, cost feasibility potential complications with were assessed patients indwelling duration above 100 days. Results Age inclusion study ranged from 21 35 years, kidney, ureter bladder scores below 6, five assessed. Previous time 106 315 Reasons for (pre‐stented) ureteroscopy mostly stone related. The overall recorded procedure Switch technique was successfully less than 96 s (range 68–95 s) all within series. No procedure‐related reported. Conclusion Utilizing snare, both feasible could easily utilized resource‐limited areas, regional centres or grasper not available, have malfunctioned cannot adequately approximate due distal encrustation.

Foreign Body Removal by Snare Loop: During Intracranial Stent Procedure

We present a case of successful retrieval of an intracranial stent using a snare wire. A 52-year-old woman presented with left border zone infarction. On cerebral angiography, the C6 segment of the left internal carotid artery (ICA) showed significant stenosis. We attempted stenting of the lesion, although stent dislodgement occurred in the ICA C4 segment. We successfully removed it using a sna...

Endoscopic removal of a proximally migrated biliary stent using a novel gooseneck snare: the "EndoCowboy".

Proximal migration often occurs as an adverse event of biliary stent placement, with a reported migration rate of 3.1%– 4.9% [1]. Although various techniques have been reported for endoscopic removal of proximally migrated biliary stents, the procedure is still technically demanding and time-consuming, and occasionally unsuccessful [2–4]. We describe a useful technique for endoscopic removal of...

Facilitate Stent Removal: Magnetic DJ Stent

A 23-year-old male patient was performed semirigid ureterorenoscopy and laser lithotripsy with placement magnetic DJ stent because of right urethral stone. Removal of the magnetic DJ stent does not need a second procedure such as cystoscopy for the patients. This technique is easy to learn and should be considered as suitable for use on an outpatient basis.
